The Independent Living Project is a Title IV-E State Grant-funded program in which the Christian Home of Johnstown, Inc. provides services through Cambria County Children and Youth Service.
The purpose of the program is to enable youth ages 14-23 transitioning out of care to be able to live independently.
CHJ Case Managers provide testing and life skills training to all eligible youth. Youth are encouraged to utilize the skills they have obtained during training to pursue both employment and educational goals and to work toward a successful transition to self-sufficiency. Services are provided based on the needs of each individual client.
Clients are referred by Cambria County Children and Youth Services.
