This is a trickle down effect, as we, a non profit residential group home and emergency shelter provider, are having the same retention and proper compensation issues. The work to protect children from abuse is essential to our future, simply because they are our future. There is no thanks needed, what is needed is money to provide the proper support and necessary training for the children so that they have a fair chance towards success. What we do matters and provides a positive impact in the lives of the youth in our care. The most important factor is when they walk through our doors, they are safe; no longer suffering from direct abuse or neglect and allowed the opportunity to begin a healing process. It is a struggle to make sure they have what they need for proper development, but that struggle is worth it!
