Hello! Welcome to CHJCares.org the cyber home of the Christian Home of Johnstown, Inc. Family. We have been around for over 100 years and have served thousands of children. The Christian Home is a group home and emergency shelter for boys and girls between the ages of 10 and 18. All youth may be placed by Children and Youth and Juvenile Probation agencies some of which are Cambria, Bedford, Blair, Indiana, Jefferson, Somerset, Huntingdon, Washington, Westmoreland and other several others. Residences and Programs
All programs of the Christian Home of Johnstown, Inc. are designed to strengthen the child's relationships with his/her peers, adults and family members. Emphasis is placed on increasing self esteem, social skills and self reliance. The ultimate goal is the re-integration of the child into a family and/or community living environment.
The Fend Home an Emergency Shelter and Group Home Independent Living facility for girls located at 1100 Edson Avenue, Johnstown, PA.
The Houston House, an Emergency Shelter and Group Home Independent Living facility for boys located at 1119-1121 Edson Avenue, Johnstown, PA.
Residents are given the opportunity to earn privileges by demonstrating appropriate behavior in situations of increased responsibility through the WIN/WIN IL program.
We also manage a Title IV-E Nonresidential Independent Living Program, for Cambria County Children and Youth.
